Garron II

Garron II is the second planet from the sun of the Garron system, United Empire of Earth (UEE). Originally a lush, biodiverse world populated by countless animal and plant species and a burgeoning civilization, it was subjected to terraforming at the orders of Linton Messer XI and the majority of its life was destroyed, including its intelligent inhabitants. Footage of this event, known as the Massacre of Garron II, was broadcast throughout the UEE, inspiring an uprising that led to the fall of the Messer dynasty and the reorganization of the UEE government. The Senate passed the Fair Chance Act in SEY 2795 to ensure what happened to Garron II would not happen elsewhere and funded a long-term program to attempt to restore Garron II's original biosphere. This process remains ongoing.
